Summary: | The authors present results of an extensive experimental study to investigate aging effects on transformer oil mixtures (TOMs). Accelerated aging was applied to TOM samples of different relative volumetric percentages using different doses of gamma -irradiation. The electrical and physical properties of a variety of samples were measured, e.g., dielectric strength, dielectric loss, specific gravity, viscosity, and flash point. Also, a gas analysis was carried out to compare with the actual aging situation. A comprehensive analysis of the results is presented, indicating the aging effects on the TOMs.< > |
