Summary:In order to improve the spectral efficiency of the V-BLAST system employing adaptive modulation, a novel hybrid detection order is proposed that detects saturated, invalid and unsaturated valid subchannels in turn. Compared with the existing forward and reverse orderings, hybrid ordering can achieve higher spectral efficiency and smaller gap between the simulated BER and the target BER due to the flexible detection order. In addition, we demonstrate that the higher equivalent channel gain does not imply higher spectral efficiency at the scenario of adaptive modulation
