An all-optical ultra-fast 2/spl times/2 spatial switch based on polarization rotation induced by cross-phase-modulation in highly non-linear fiber is presented. Bit-error-rate measurements confirm the effectiveness of the proposed scheme and its suitability in cascaded configurations.
