Regenerative all-optical wavelength converter based on semiconductor optical amplifier and sharp frequency response filter

We propose a new architecture for regenerative all optical wavelength conversion. The conversion utilizes the induced chirp in SOA amplifier and sharp frequency response filter. 20,000 km transmission and cascadability are demonstrated in recirculating loop experiment.
