Summary:This paper describes a long core movable secondary winding slide transformer at industrial frequencies. The basic wiring and connections of the transformer are described in the paper, as well as the distribution of magnetic flux along the magnetic circuit and its effect on the transformer parameters. In addition, fundamental issues such as transformer mutual inductance and flux distribution are discussed. The main experimental results of the transformer modelling study are also presented.
