Summary: | Electrification for commercial vehicles is effective in emission reduction and energy conservation. Subject to heavy-haul transport, electrified trucks are calling for higher performance of electric powertrains. For this purpose, this paper proposes a 6-mode planetary powertrain with a Ravigneauxt power coupler. After analyzing working modes and power flow, system dynamic models that consider powertrain efficiency are built. Then, system key parameters are optimized by the Particle Swarm Optimization considering dynamic performance. To verify the economic performance, an instantaneous energy-optimized strategy is adopted to compare with a counterpart powertrain under a commercial driving cycle. The evaluation result shows that the proposed powertrain is superior to its counterpart in both dynamic and economic performance. |
