Summary:This project explores the development of a haptic vest and a mobile application designed to enhance navigation and safety for workers operating in high-risk environments. Leveraging haptic feedback technology, the application integrates with tactile vests to provide spatial information through vibratory motors, reducing the need for visual scanning. This handsfree guidance system is particularly beneficial in hazardous conditions. The project aims to demonstrate the efficacy of combining haptic devices with mobile technology to create a functional tool for enhancing safety and performance in critical situations. Preliminary results showed a 25% decrease in time spent in an unfamiliar environment by users wearing the haptic vest and a lower level of user stress.
