Summary:Three different measurement methods have been adopted to measure the sound power of the ultra-high voltage (UHV) transformer and shunt reactor in UHV substations. The spectral characteristics and differences of the sound power got by three different measurement methods are analyzed. Then the boundary noise of the UHV substation is calculated based on the sound power parameters measured by different measurement method. And the prediction results are compared and analyzed with the measured results of the boundary noise of UHV substation. The researched results indicate that the sound power parameters measured by the vibration method are more suitable for the prediction of the boundary noise of UHV substations. Compared with the test value, the average prediction error is not more than 2dB, using the sound power measured by the vibration method. It can ensure that the boundary noise of the ultra-high voltage substation meets the requirements of the standard limit value.
