Summary:Today, high speed long haul transmission is one of the most significant topic in communication networks. wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) solves the issue of high network cost deployment and high capacity transmissions. Besides, mode division multiplexing (MDM) allows reliable and secure transmission using modes. A 16×10Gbps WDM system using LP00 and LP01 modes incorporated MDM technique is presented in this work. Simulation results indicate that maximum optical wireless communication (OWC) range of 33000km and 31500km is obtained at pointing error of no and 1μrad respectively, under 10 −3 bit error rate limit. Also, LP00 mode performs well compared to LP01. The comparative analysis also realized that system performs better compared to existing ones.
