Summary:Cone Beam Computed Tomography serves as a crucial imaging modality in oral diagnostics and treatment planning. This study presents an innovative method for detecting dental arch curves from CBCT datasets by optimizing a standard form. The proposed method first generates an axial maximum intensity projection image from slices with tooth crowns for separating teeth and jaw bones. Next, a standard dental arch form is set and optimized using an energy function. The reconstructed panoramic image based on the detected dental arch more accurately represents the maxillofacial structures, even when affected by metal artifacts.
