Summary: | To solve the corona discharge audible noise problem during the trial operation of an AC transmission line, first, the corona discharge location identification was completed with infrared imagery and ultraviolet imagery technologies. Then, through the three-dimensional electric field analysis about special transmission line fittings, three optimization schemes about double pendulum damper were checked preliminary. Thirdly, corona discharge tests at high voltage test site about the optimization schemes were accomplished and optimal radius of sphere-cylinder structure was selected combined with field operation requirements. Finally, the field reliability retests were completed and the result showed that the corona discharge noise of double pendulum damper was inhibited, the average sound pressure levels at noise sensitive area boundaries was 4.2 dB less than before and the acoustic environment quality along this transmission line was improved significantly. |
