Summary: | The present paper deals with personal interaction and political tolerance in an international crisis. The research data collection process implemented at a university and a school in Minnesota was intended to compare the reaction from different education groups in terms of their participation in organizations, political interaction, and political tolerance measures. The finding that no relationship existed between organizational participation and tolerance measures refuted the hypothesis. An additional finding is that there was significant difference in humanitarianism between recreational and non-recreational activity participants. Interaction about politics with political socializers such as family members, teachers, and peer groups was found to be positively related to humanitarianism for the university group. The finding that political interaction indices linked positively with tolerance measures for the senior high boys endorsed the other hypothesis. |
