Summary: | Known since 1903 for its art, the cave of El Castillo in Cantabria (Spain) had never been studied for human traces other than the “aesthetic” ones And yet, in spite of the adjustment works brought to it, the cave contains numerous archaeological elements giving evidence of an intense use of the network by prehistoric populations. These documents had remained totally unknown, and we have initiated their exhaustive study. This contribution presents the first report on our investigations devoted to deposits, following the point of view that we have adopted, and the working method put in place.
