Summary:In the article we discuss how Paulo Freire and his legacy are expressed through memes published throughout social networks on the internet. We emphasize the political sense of the memes which are offensive to Paulo Freire, discharging his work as well as insulting him. It is an attack to his conception of popular education that they mainly aim to achieve. These are attacks to the education of the popular majority which attend the public school, if we examine the campaign of personalities, groups and far-right movements against the influence of Paulo Freire through the concept of class struggles. The copies of memes we use in our survey were taken from Facebook and Twitter social networks. Richard Dawkins and his original work about memes were references to the article.
