Summary:This work was performed in 2013 in order to evaluate the agronomic performance of 15 advanced lines of thin long-grain rice from the FLAR, in three agro-ecological regions of Mexico under irrigation. The experimental design randomized complete block with four replications was established. Individual and combined analysis was performed by analysis of variance in series of experiments using the SAS program. The best lines were FL08224-3P-2-1P-3P-M and FL06747-4P-10-5P-3P-M, with yields >9t . [ha.sup.-1]; also, they presented in two environments, Michoacan and Nayarit, good tolerance to the staining grain disease, currently with a high incidence in Mexico. In San Luis Potosi all lines were susceptible to staining grain, except FL08224-3P-21P-3P-M which showed resistance. These two lines showed high percent recovery of whole grains and both have good quality for industrial use, and will be proposed for characterization and registration for irrigated conditions in the Mexican tropics.
