Summary:This paper aims to conduct a study on the perception of risk in the areas of the municipality of Rorainopolis, Roraima state, Brazil. The research site was limited by the influence of the mouth of the river that cuts the Chico Reis, that flow through the city, where three neighborhoods: Suelandia, Novo Horizonte and Floresta. The choice of interviewees houses took into account its location. 24 families were interviewed residents at these locations considered at risk. The results of the interviews showed that people living in these areas is not satisfied with their place of residence, but stated that because of the economic condition, have nowhere to go.
