In situ digestibility and fermentation patterns of maize tratado com enzimas exogenas em vacas holstein

Summary:The dose effect of 0, 1, 2 and 3g x [kg.sup.-1] dry matter (MS) of corn stover (RM) of the enzyme product Fibrozyme (E), and the application pretreatment time (PT) of 0 and 24h before a ruminal incubation of 24h in rumen-cannulated Holstein cows was evaluated. The in situ digestibility of the dry matter (DISMS), neutral and acid detergent fiber (NDF and ADF) in the residue of the in situ digestion, concentrations of individual volatile fatty acids (VFA), total volatile fatty acids (AGVt) and production of ammonia nitrogen (N-N[H.sub.3]) at 0, 3, 6, 9, 12 and 24h were assessed. A completely random design (DCA) was used, with an arranged 4 x 2 factorial (dose x PT) for DISMS, NDF and ADF, and 4 x 6 (dose x sampling time) for AGVt and N-N[H.sub.3], with 4 replications. The values of DISMS and NDF of the treatment with 1g of E and 24h PT were higher than those without E. The ADF was not statistically different. Levels of 1 and 2g of E elevated the concentrations of AGVt and N-N[H.sub.3]. The lower acetate to propionate ratio (A:P) was obtained with 1g of E. The results suggest that there are no advantages over the control when the RM is supplemented with Fibrozyme using doses above 1g.kg MS-1.
