Summary:This research addresses one of the most searched topics discussed in administration: the leadership. Their concepts and designs continue to evolve as the needs of organizations change. The present study aimed to identify the leadership practices adopted by a real estate manager, according to the model of the five practices of exemplary leadership of the authors Kouzes e Posner (2013). And then to compare the manager's vision with that of the employees, verifying the existence of variability in relation to the manager's leadership practices and the sociodemographic variables of the employees. Through a case study, we investigated the leadership practices adopted by the manager/owner of Execut's real estate, located in the city of Joao Pessoa, Paraiba, active in the market for 25 years. This work is classified as descriptive, and as to its nature fits in quantitative studies. The manager/owner and fifty-five employees were surveyed. Data were collected through two questionnaires, one prepared by the researcher and the other developed by the authors Kouzes e Posner (2013) called The Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI), in the versions of self-assessment and peer assessment. The results indicated that the practice "inspire a shared vision" was the best evaluated, and the practice "encourage the heart" was the least evaluated, both in the self-assessment of the manager, as in the peer assessment of employees. Keywords: Leadership; Manager; Real estate business Essa pesquisa aborda um dos temas mais pesquisados e discutidos na administracao: a lideranca. Seus conceitos e modelos continuam a evoluir na medida em que as necessidades das organizacoes mudam. O presente estudo teve como objetivo principal investigar as praticas de lideranca adotadas por um gestor imobiliario, de acordo com o modelo das cinco praticas de lideranca exemplar proposto por Kouzes e Posner (2013). E depois comparar a visao do gestor com a dos empregados, verificar a existencia de variabilidade em relacao as praticas de lideranca do gestor e as variaveis sociodemograficas dos empregados. Atraves de um estudo de caso, investigaram-se as praticas de lideranca do gestor/proprietario da imobiliaria Execut, em Joao Pessoa (PB), atuante no mercado paraibano ha 25 anos. Este trabalho e classificado como descritivo e se enquadra nos estudos quantitativos. Foram pesquisados 55 empregados e o gestor/proprietario. Os dados foram obtidos por meio de dois questionarios, um deles elaborado pelo pesquisador e o outro desenvolvido pelos autores Kouzes e Posner (2013), intitulado Inventario das Praticas de Lideranca (LPI), nas versoes de autoavaliacao e heteroavaliacao. Os resultados indicaram que a pratica "inspire uma visao comum" foi a mais bem avaliada e a pratica "anime os coracoes" obteve a menor avaliacao, tanto na autoavaliacao do gestor quanto na heteroavaliacao dos empregados.
