Summary:Introduction: There are few studies that emphasize classical ballet dancer and performance of the same way that other sports and athletes are discussed. Likewise it is important to know the body composition of an athlete training for a more suitable to your needs, it is also important to know the dancer's body composition and therefore gain a more specific training. Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the body composition of practitioners of classical ballet advanced level. Materials and Methods: We analyzed the percentage of fat mass, the waist-to-hip (WHR) and body mass index (BMI) of 5 students of classical ballet between 22 and 26 years, mean weight 22.5 kg with an average height of 1.57 m and must practice at least 1h30min ballet, three times a week. Results: Most of the students analyzed in this study is considered appropriate within the relation to the percentage of fat mass, WHR and BMI. Discussion: The analysis showed that in the practice of ballet, in relation to improving the physical health of the individual, had a great result. since most of the students analyzed in this study is considered appropriate within the relation to the percentage of fat mass, WHR and BMI. Conclusion: After achieving the results, as well as information about the current situation of each student, information may be used for observation and analysis of where students are needing to improve and what training would be most appropriate for each. Key words: Ballet, Fat mass, BMI, WHR. Introducao: Poucos sao os estudos que dao enfase ao ballet classico e ao desempenho da bailarina da mesma forma que outros esportes e atletas sao abordados. Da mesma forma que e importante conhecer a composicao corporal de um atleta para obter um treino mais adequado as suas necessidades, tambem e importante saber a composicao corporal da bailarina e com isso obter um treino mais especifico. Objetivo: O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a composicao corporal de praticantes de ballet classico de nivel avancado. Materiais e Metodos: Foi analisado o percentual de massa gorda, a relacao cintura /quadril (RCQ) e o indice de massa corporea (IMC) de 5 alunas de ballet classico entre 22 e 26 anos, pesando em media 52,5Kg com estatura media de 1,57m, devendo praticar no minimo 1h30min da modalidade, tres vezes na semana. Resultados: A maioria das alunas analisadas no presente estudo esta dentro do considerado adequado com relacao ao percentual de massa gorda, RCQ e IMC. Discussao: A analise dos dados nos mostrou que a pratica do ballet classico, em relacao a melhoria da saude fisica do individuo, tem um otimo resultado Conclusao: Depois de encontrados os resultados, alem de obter informacoes sobre a situacao atual de cada aluna, as informacoes poderao ser utilizadas para observacao e analise de onde as alunas estao precisando melhorar e qual o treinamento seria mais adequado para cada uma delas.
