Summary:The pork production industry in North Carolina continues to seek ways to economically dry, move, process and sell the bio solids that is the end product of successful animal waste management. Pork producers have tested and implemented technological processes that increase productivity, recycle animal wastes and also bring environmental benefits. Continued and aggressive research and development efforts demonstrate the industry's social responsibility and leadership. These efforts will also help identify more environmentally benign waste management options.
