Summary:We are confronted with rapid phosphates costs rise in the recent time. In the very short period they have been more than doubled. Immediately we have to pose a question about their economical use in animal nutrition. It not depends only on price of different phosphate but also on its digestibility for defined domestic animal species. Digestibility experiments are of great pretension. In article we present such experiment in which we determine apparent digestibility of phosphorus from different phosphates on pigs. We will discuss the different phosphates and phitase use in feed industry, their chemical composition _ chemical analyses and market offer in Slovenia. If we extend the problem we have to consider ecology and the problem of high phosphorus levels in manure.
