Summary:The Gumboro disease in chickens is an acute viral contagious disease of poultry which causes substantial economic damages in poultry production. The disease was registered for the first time in Yugoslavia in 1971 and since that time it has appeared in the form of enzootics (sporadically), while one can today already speak about Gumboro disease epizootics. The work presents pathogenic studies of an isolate of the Gumboro disease virus on the basis of macroscopic and pathomorphological changes on bursa Fabricii. The degree of damage expressed as damage index amounted to 1.66 and 3.65.
