Summary:Fruitgrowing in F.R. Yugoslavia, especially in Vojvodina from 1950 to 1993 is presented. The greatest increase in Yugoslavian fruit production is achieved in period from 1960 to 1965. It is a period of massive shift to planed fruitgrowing and from the classical free shaped cultural system to palmette. Last two decades was period of shift to high density planting. Today, in orchards the integrated fruit production concept is present. In last four decades, the highest increases in fruit production were recorded in pears, sour cherry and peach 10.7, 7.8 and 6.5 times, respectively. In Vojvodina, the highest increases in fruit production were recorded in peach, apple and pear 10.8, 9.4 and 6.7 times, respectively.
