Summary:A year research on Amaranthus sp. was conducted in 1993. Some characteristics: the weight of the leaf, the content of leaf dry matter, and the taste were determined when the plant was 40 cm height. The maximum height and seed yield were determined at harvesting time. Genotypes Amaranthus cruentus S.R.L. (No 5) and Amaranthus moleros (No 6) had the maximum leaf weight and the highest seed yield. Average content of dry matter was 13.1. The maximum height was between 128.3 cm and 147.2 cm. The genotype Amaranthus caudatus A-713 No 4) proved to have the best taste.
