Summary:One of the most important yield components is the number of pods and the mass of seed per pea plant. A trial was established on the basis of hypothesis that the domination of better parent and heterosis, both for the number of pods and for mass of seed per plant will demonstrate in the F1 generation. Genetic basis for these traits, i.e., the mode of inheritance and the components of genetic variance were studied. Six divergent varieties were used as the research material. According to the genetic analysis of the studied traits, the best genotypes from the F1 generation were Jof x Consort and Wavertop x Consort.
