Contribution to the study of variability of some leaf characteristics of white mulberry-tree (Morus alba L.) and rooting of cuttings

On a sample of 30 trees of white mulberry (Morus alba L.) from Banat (Vojvodina, Yugoslavia) the following characteristics of leaves were studied: lenght, width, length from leaf base to the line of the largest leaf width, form coefficient and number of leaves on the unit of shoot length. The mean l...

Summary:On a sample of 30 trees of white mulberry (Morus alba L.) from Banat (Vojvodina, Yugoslavia) the following characteristics of leaves were studied: lenght, width, length from leaf base to the line of the largest leaf width, form coefficient and number of leaves on the unit of shoot length. The mean leaf length of four trees in the sample was 10.4 to 11.9 cm, so. These leaf qualities are very variable on one tree, but also between trees. they were considered perspective for selection after being tested in clonal tests. The success of rooting of cuttings of analyzed trees also varied depending on trees.
