Summary:Investigation has been carried out concerning water quality on the river Sava at the Makis profile (Yugoslavia). The achieved results show that there is a connection between the absorption of the ultraviolet radiation at 254 mm and the dissolved, organic compounds presented by the content of the dissolved organic carbon, as well as the connection between values of the chemical oxygen consumption and the content of the dissolved and total organic carbon in water.
