Summary:Crossing products having, in the first generation, a heavier fleece, shorter tuft, smaller height and wool strand length and better wool quality than their Sar Planina sheep mothers, were obtained by crossing Sar Planina sheep (autochthonous race in Yugoslavia) with studs of German Improved Land sheep. Fleece weight and wool quality, as polyfactorial properties, take an intermediary inheritance course, and wool fineness inheritance is closer to the parent having finer wool.
