Summary:Soil and vegetation of Vranjak and Guvniste (Karadjordjevo), Serbia (Yugoslavia), along the left bank of the Danube river were studied. Based on field and laboratory analyses, we singled out: two forests of pedunculate oak (chernozem and pseudogley - gley), three forests of pedunculate oak and narrow-leaved ash (chernozem, hydromorphic black soil and pseudogley), one forest of pedunculate oak and hornbeam, two forests of pedunculate oak, hornbeam and Turkey oak (soil lessive and chernozem) and a site of shrubby vegetation (solonec).
