Summary:Many questions concerning the significance of microelements in the life of plants have been discussed in detail in this book. The role of 7 unavoidable microelements has been presented: iron, boron, zinc, copper, manganese, molybdenum and chlorine. Problems regarding the mechanism and ecology of their uptake, translocation in the xylem and phloem have been discussed along with their content and distribution in the plants, their physiological and biochemical role, the problems regarding their insufficiency and surplus, the method of determining the level of necessary microelements available to the plants and their use in plant production. Attention has also been given to the content and dynamics of microelements in the soil and their role in animal nutrition.
