Summary:A policy on wood which adapts itself to future requirements involves not only planning the establishment of rapid-growth type plantations, and improvements in the control and management of the forestal heritage, but it is also necessary that the matter of an equal division of the profits of a forest economy and an industrial based wood economy on the rough timber market be more precisely defined. This type of market should be governed by rational proven regulations, able to interpret and satisfy a specific demand with an appropriate offer without the charge of high transport costs. In order to achieve such objectives, as well as developing research work into aspects of forestry, it is also necessary to get these same private and public bodies effectively involved in active forestry, making the existing laws operative by means of adequate financial backing and objectively promoting associate forestry management schemes.
