Trials of winter control against citrus red mite (Panonychus citri McGregor) in Calabria [Italy

A control trial against Citrus Red Mite (Panonychus citri McGregor) on lemon trees [Citrus limon (L.) Burm. f.] has been carried out correlating the following acaricides: Cy-hexatin, Fenbutatin, Propargite, accotril, Omethoate, Fenpropanate, Petroleum oil by itself and mixture with Fenson, besides Dicofol, Amitraz and Propargite + Benzomate. The most effective products which have validly protected the plants for the duration of the trial resulted to be: Cy-hexatin, Fenbutatin, Fenpropanate, Petroleum oil, by itself and mixture with Fenson, Propargite, Propargite + Benzomate and Amitraz. Lower persistently Omethoate + Fenson. Late effectiveness of Dicofol, insufficient that of Omethoate and Accotril by itself and mixture with Fenson. In una prova di lotta contro il nuovo Ragnetto rosso degli agrumi (Panonychus citri McGregory) su limone [Citrus limon (L). Burm. F.] sono stati posti a confronto i seguenti prodotti acaricide: Cy-hexatin, Fenbutatin, Propargite, Accotril, Ometoato, Fenpropanate, Olio bianco da soli ed in miscela con Fenson, inoltre Dicofol, Amitraz e Propargite + Benzomate. I principi attivi piu efficaci e che hanno protetto validamente le piante per tutta la durata della prova sono stati: Cy-hexatin, Fenbutatin, Fenpropanate, Olio bianco, Propargite da soli ed in miscela con Fenson, Propargite + Benzomate ed Amitraz. Meno persistente l'azione di Ometoato + Fenson. Di lenta azione il Dicofol, poco efficaci l'Ometoato e l'Accotril da solo ed in miscela con Fenson
