Summary:An experimental group of bullocks of the Slovak Pied breed were fed with rape cakes with an average dose of 2.29 kg per animal per day (7.84 % fat in dry matter of feed ration). Bullocks in the control group were fed barley meal also at 2.29 kg per animal per day (3.07 % fat). The experiment lasted 119 days. The trial bullocks achieved a weight of 540 kg before slaughter and a dressing percentage of 57.7 %, while the control bullocks achieved a weight of 548 kg and a dressing percentage of 59.10 %. Fat deposition increased significantly by 0.78 kg (P less than 0.05) in intestinal fat and by 1.48 kg (P less than 0.05) in kidney fat in consequence of rapeseed cakes feeding. Total fat created higher share in live weight of bullocks by 0.38 % (P less than 0.01) before slaughter in experimental group compared with control group.
