Summary:The objectives of this study were aimed to indirect production characteristics of cattle in the Slovak conditions. The study of associations between milk protein polymorphism and direct and indirect cattle production traits confirmed only the influence of K-casein to fat content and to ratio protein into fat. The associations A allele of beta-lactoglobulin to milk production, protein production and to protein content were not achieved. beta-lactoglobulin (BB genotype) positive influenced fat content and fat production per lactation. Analyse of K-casein showed the positive influence B allele in homozygous form to lactation length. On the base temperament analyse we separated the group of random selected cows in accordance to reaction on unknown illumination occasion to three homogenous groups: small excitable (restful), average excitable and high excitable (nervous, fearful) cows. The results showed the option to prepare the genetic evaluation of sires on the base of cows temperament classification as auxiliary selection trait in global selection index. The study results will be possible to use in the construction of new global selection indexes for a different cattle population in Slovak Republic. The indexes will contain besides the direct also a part of the indirect production traits.
