Summary:In this study motility of bull, ram, stallion and fox spermatozoa was evaluated using computer assisted semen analysis (CASA). For all measurements Hamilton Thorn motility analyzer version 7 was used. The results of motility analyzes were as follow: The spermatozoa motility in bulls is 86.0% immediately after re-freezing (time 0), but the percentage of progressive motile spermatozoa in only 30.4%. After 60 minutes of incubation (time 1) the percentage of motile spermatozoa is 90.8% and the value of spermatozoa with progressive motility was 6.8%. The path velocity of bull spermatozoa was 56.0 micro m/s after re-freezing and 28.6 micro m/s after one hour. The straightness of the spermatozoa motility is after re-freezing 83.0 - 91.0%, with an average of 86.2% and after 60 minutes a value of 94.6% was determined. In rams, we refer that after re-freezing the spermatozoa motility is 63.14% and progressive motility is 10.43%. After 60 minutes the motility 52.33% and the progressive motility 6.67% was detected. An average path velocity of ram spermatozoa is at time 0 51.57 micro m/s and after 60 minutes is reaches 53.67 micro m/s. The straightness of ram spermatozoa is after re-freezing 66.14% and after 60 minute it reaches 61.67%. In stallions an average motility 73.0% after re-freezing and 73.8% after 60 minutes of incubation was found. The progressive spermatozoa movement is higher at time 0 (13.17%) and lower after 60 minutes of incubation (9.2%). The path velocity after re-freezing is 39.83 micro m/s and after 60 minutes it reaches the value of 39.20 micro m/s. Also a time dependent decrease of motility straightness was detected (73.83% at time 0, 69.4% at time 1, resp.). The percentage of motile spermatozoa is in fox semen 61.63%, but only 4% of spermatozoa have progressive motility. The path velocity of fox spermatozoa is 31.77 micro m/s and the straightness of movement is 64.69%. After 60 minutes of incubation all studied parameters of spermatozoa motility decreased to 0. This fact confirms that the fox spermatozoa motility is decreasing very rapidly
