Summary:Loosening of seeds from larch cones (Larix decidua MILL.) is done by thermal extraction of residual seeds. Loosening by extraction does not meet current hygienic and technical requirements. A new method of cone seeds loosening (trashing method) was tested. Based on the same measurements, a new technology comprising a transporting and trashing mechanism was designed. The transport mechanism is formed of a feed screw, while the trashing mechanism rotates with an axial motion of cones along longitudinal axis. The results of measurements suggest that this modification is necessary
