Summary:This review is dedicated to the analysis of information concerning the regulation of the two most important integrals of plants - dormancy and resistance to diseases. The results of theoretical investigations in the field of dormancy regulation were collected and analysed. Also there were collected the practical aspects of regulation of dormancy and resistance functions. The analysis of private and literature data concerning changes in hormonal balance during dormancy, sprouting and the mechanism of action of phytohormones was held. At the present time the hypothesis about the biochemical connection between the dormancy and the resistance to diseases, suggested by the authors, is discussed. Also, the results of theoretical investigations in long-term storage of potato and vegetables to decrease losses because of sprouting and diseases were analysed. The authors also have observed some possibilities of regulation of dormancy and immunity of plants' organs by means of changing of hormonal balance under action of physiologically active substance of different chemical nature
