Summary:The effect of seasonal soil freezing on the surface runoff development and subsequent soil erosion has been investigated. The thawed erosion components under different infiltration facilities were assessed. Four categories of hydrological processes have been specified, that are induced by snow thawing on the slopes. The formulas elaborated enable to compute the period off complete soil thawing and to forecast in this way the effect of frozen aquifuge on infiltration/surface runoff ratio
