Summary:There was studied the dynamics of content of abscisic acid (AA), cytokines, monosugars and water-soluble polysaccharides in the period of cold dormancy in tulip bulbs (Tulipa bifloriformis) in outdoor wintering and in winter forcing in a greenhouse. In the two cases in tissues of storing skins the level of monosugars and water-soluble polysaccharides increased, the ratio of monosugars and polysaccharides outdoors almost did not change, but in forcing reduced by a factor of 5 times. In the tissues of apical bud the level of monosugars also increased in both cases, but the ratio of monosugars and polysaccharides outdoors was higher throughout the experiment. The level of cytokines in the tissues of apical bud outdoors was higher than in forcing, but the dynamic of the total content was similar in both variants. The content of free and fixed AA in the tissues of apical bud in forcing increased maximizing at the end of cooling period. Outdoors there were observed two peaks of free form of AA: in October and March. Although in the condition of winter forcing rapid attrition of energetic and plastic resources took place resulting in dying off 20% of germinal buds, the adaptation potential of tulips allowed developing generative shoots with 4-5 full-value flowers making it possible to use this multi-flower tulip species for winter greenhouse forcing
