Summary:This paper presents results of a two-year study on pomo-technical properties of ten plum cultivars grown under agro-environmental conditions of northern Montenegro. The following cultivars were the subject of examination: 'Čačanska Rana', 'California Blue', 'Valerija', 'Čačanska Lepotica', 'Čačanska Najbolja', 'Stanley', 'Čačanska Rodna', 'Valjevka', 'Požegača' and 'Ana Spät'. The trial involved the study of phonological and morphometric properties of fruit and stone. The content of soluble solids, total sugars and acids, cellulose and mineral matters were measured. The aim of the investigation was to obtain the best performing cultivars to recommend for commercial growing in northern Montenegro. Cultivars grown on sunny slopes yielded fruits of excellent quality. As for early and mid-early cultivars, 'Čačanska Rana' and 'Čačanska Lepotica' fared best respectively, whereas 'Stanley', 'Čačanska Rodna' and 'Valjevka ' were best-performing late cultivars.
