Summary:This paper presents results of floristic, phytocoenological and phytogeographical analyses of weeds developing under conventional potato production on experimental plots near Becej, Serbia. The examination involved only the control of a two-factor experiment including soil cultivation and planting without other soil maintenance and weed control measures. Stands of the Panico-Galinsogetum Tx. and Beck. 1942 association, a segetal weed community typically found in row crops, were recorded in the plots. The floristic composition of this association was made up of 23 species. The biological spectrum of the weed species suggested the terrophytic character of the association (74%) and a substantial proportion of geophytes (26%). Phytogeographycal analysis showed absolute percentage of widely distributed floral elements in the Panico-Galinsogetum association.
