Summary:A survey of ruderal flora and vegetation was conducted in various habitats of Pancevacki Rit, an alluvial plain in which the Agricultural Corporation Belgrade (PKB) has its fields, throughout the vegetation seasons of 1999-2002, and the presence of the adventive species Asclepias syriaca was confirmed. Phytocenological investigation of ruderal vegetation at Pancevacki Rit has associated A. syriaca with three ruderal communities (ass. Arctio-Artemisietum vulgaris, ass. Sambucetum ebuli and ass. Convolvulo-Agropyretum repentis). In the ruderal community Convolvulo-Agropyretum repentis, which is most widespread at Pancevacki Rit, A. syriaca has high coverage and participates as a dominant species in forming a clearly differentiated subassociation asclepietosum syriaci-subass. nova.
