Determination of the cultivar composition of pollinators for sweet cherry cv Carna

Summary:The paper presents evaluation of cultivar composition of pollinators (four cultivars and self pollination) for sweet cherry cv Carna by testing the germination of pollen in vivo over two experimental years. The obtained results suggest that cv Stella (in the 1st year) and cv Van (in the 2nd year) are the most efficient pollinators with regard to the dynamics of pollen tube growth through particular parts of the pistil of cv Carna. Cv Bigarreau Hativ Burlat follows in respect of growth dynamics over the period, with approximately uniform quantitative growth parameters in vivo.
