Summary:Expansion of herbicide weed control is based not only on single active ingredients, but on many herbicide mixtures. Ready-to-use herbicide mixtures are important for practical purposes, as these allow widening of the efficiency rate, reducing the number of applications etc. As in previous cases, four groups of principles, illustrated with many examples, are established: I. morpho-anatomical; II. ecological and technological; III. physiological and biochemical; IV. economic. The most important group of principles are physiological and biochemical, which also enable to create even new active compounds. Each new mixture needs usual research on its biological activity, formulation, toxicology and possible environmental influences.
