Summary:The aim of this paper is to point out the soil evolution under irrigation in a plot situated on a slope down Jijia plane. Two different profiles (sampled in 1992) of irrigated Cambic chernozem have been compared with another one taken as an "outliner" because it has been sampled before irrigation (1970). The morphological differentiation of these soils is better revealed by pedological processes specific to the "zonal soil" (Cambic chernozems). Thus, the micromorphological analysis emphasizes a series of very developed secondary processes (as clay illuviation until 125 cm, decarbonation phenomena of Cca horizon and recarbonation of Bv horizon by fauna activity) due to the irrigation influence. These secondary processes induce a clear difference between irrigated and not irrigated soils
