Summary:This paper presents results obtained at Agricultural Research Station Turda and Plant Protection Centre Mures, in 1988 and 1989 regarding the treatments efficiency with Trichogramma maidis for reduction of Corn borer attack and maintenance of yield stability, as well as the parasitism degree of European Corn borer eggs in natural conditions. The treatments with T. maidis were carried out at the appearance of the first adults of O. nubilalis, the repeating was made at 7-8 days intervals. Under the conditions from Turda, the treatment efficiency, after two launches was of 63,2 percent (1988) and 86,5 percent (1989). The yield increase was of 10-19 percent. At Mures, under the conditions from 1988 and 1989, the treatment efficiency was of 61,1 percent and 69,7 percent, and the yield increase was of 27,0 percent. Percentage parasitism of European Corn borer eggs ranged from 50 percent to 80 percent, at the distance of 8 m.
