Summary:Results of test for the resistance to the European corn borer are shown, using some inbred selected from hybrid combinations between maize lines with low values of attack by the borer and maize forms with good agronomical features. It was found that by selecting and testing only maize inbred lines with low attack values, one can reach after a number of years, a such lower than in initial forms from which these are originating. A series of inbred lines manifested a certain degree of resistance to O. nubiliasis, their behaviour being similar to that of lines from these were selected.
