Summary:Fundulea 98 three-way hybrid registered in 1984 and perspective single crosses HSF 1290-76, HSF 5954-78 and HSF 8129-78 obtained at the Research Institute for Cereals and Industrial Crops - Fundulea have been tested in comparative trials at 6 locations (Fundulea, Braila, Caracal, Dobrogea, Marculesti and Simnic) by using two planting dates (21-28 June and 1-15 July) during 1982-1983, in comparison with 3 registered hybrids and a foreign hybrid, Bastion. The recently registered hybrid Fundulea 29 was noticed for its high and constant yields, for a good resistance to Helminthosporium turcicum Pass, and to stem lodging, for earliness. Due to all these qualities it is recommended for production to use HSF 1290-76, HSF 5954-78 and HSF 8129-78 perspective hybrids, which achieved higher yields as compared to Fundulea 102, are characterized by a better resistance to diseases and unfavourable climatic conditions and a better quality.
