Summary:Changes during 1981-1983 in the health status of sunflower crops, occurrence of some new pathogens (particularly Diaporthe helianthi, Phomopsis helianthi Munt.Cvet. et al.) caused outbreaks at epiphytic levels. In the present report the action of some ecological factors is analyzed, their interaction and role in reducing yield losses. Occurrence and evolution of infections by fungi Phomopsis helianthi, Alternaria spp., Botrytis cinerea, were strongly influenced by the specific evolution of climate conditions, during the experimental years. Technical factors presented (planting time, crop density, regime of mineral nutrition, soil labour, applying fungicide treatments at optimum timing during the season and pest control) influence the state of resistance and limit the influence of pathogens.
