Summary:The research done in 14 forest sites from Voinesti and Targoviste forest administrative units in Dambovita county, polluted with petroleum and salty water from petroleum extraction units, showed that there are salinisation, alkalinisation and pollution with petroleum of the soils and of the surface and ground water and the dieback of the foresta. Salts accumulate in soils in great quantities, more than 3000 mg/100 g soil, giving a very strong salinisation. In the salts, sodium chloride predominate. In cation exchange capacity sodium content reached and exceeded 25 per cent, giving a strong alkalinisation of the soils. Surface and ground waters are strong polluted, the contents of salts reach 13 g/l. In 1981-1996 period, in Dambovita county, 242 ha of forest were destroyed and soils became unproductive. Reconstruction measures with short or long cycles of reconstruction are we propesed.
